Is your soul a step-down transformer from God?

I read in one of Deepak Chopra's book where he talked about how your soul steps down the awesome power generating from God to our physical bodies. It is very similar to how a transform reduces the energy coming from your local Power Plant to your house. Let us say that one day your transformer somehow failed and allowed the Power Plant's full current to flow directly into your house. It would most likely blow out all of  your circuit breakers and possibly start a fire. Would the same thing happen if our soul didn't step down the awesome power and energy of the Divine Force? Would that reek havoc on our physical and mental states? Let's say one day you decided to upgrade your house, making it able to handle the Power Plant's energy directly, then what? Well, you would be able to enjoy a lot of available power and you would be able to do a lot of things that previously were impossible. You could build a stadium and light it up if you wanted or erect a concert hall. The options are endless having so much raw power at your hands. Could the same be true with your physical body? Do we have the ability to rewire our thoughts to a point where we could not only handle God's power, but be able to use and focus it to our own benefit and the benefit of others? Yes, I believe we can. If the soul like the transformer has the power to step-down the Universal energy then couldn't it be redesigned to allow full access? You even decide how much stepping down you were comfortable with. All you would have to do is to make sure that your house or your body is prepared. Is this what separated Gandhi, Buddha and Christ from the masses? Have they somehow enabled themselves to be more open to God's power and therefore able to wield it? Jesus said, "what I do, you can do and greater than these." So, yes I think Jesus agrees that we can access God's energy if the desire and knowledge is sufficient. Anyone who has children knows that it takes a long time for them to learn to become self-sufficient, but we all know that if they apply themselves and learn what it takes then success will follow. Why would this not work in the spiritual realm? Maybe it does and maybe, just maybe we need to apply ourselves spiritually like our children do in school.
