The pursuit of happiness

Why are we so attracted to being happy and content? Why are we so adverse to being sad and angry? They are both emotions and feelings. Why does one feeling have a greater desire to be felt over another? Yes, I do come up with some off the wall questions at times. I guess the answer is simply because it feels good to be happy and that is enough. Or is it? As humans, we tend to try and fix the symptoms while ignoring the underlying problems we encounter in life. If you get sick and have a fever, you take something to reduce the fever. Does that mean you're not sick anymore? Of course not because the fever is a symptom that there is something wrong with your body.  If you are having a problem with someone many times we try to ignore or tell others that we don't like the person in question instead of going to the source, the person that has upset us. So what is happiness, where does it come from and more important, how can we have more of it? The accumulation of new things causes happiness, albeit for a short time. Family and friends can cause happiness, but only if they are acting like you want them. Money at times can buy a little bit of happiness. Maybe we need to drill down deeper to find what this thing called happiness is all about and why it is so fleeting. First of all, who are we? Are we some temporary mass of bones and skin running around the planet until we exhaust our bodies and then under the ground we go? Or are we something more. I think we are something more, a lot more. We are the creators of the Universe. We are First Thought. We have a direct connection to our non-physical self and our non-physical self is made up of energy. Energy from the source of all that is. We can call it Source Energy, if you wish. Our happy feelings are directions received from Source Energy. When you are aligned with your source is when you are happy. You are also happy when you feel love for others which is being in alignment with Source Energy. You are happy when you are being creative. You are happy when you get things to help you enjoy your life. Happiness from these areas are due to alignment with your source, but how many of us try to find happiness in other ways than Source? What are the pitfalls and dangers? Tomorrow we will ask and hopefully answer some of those questions.
