I hope you have enjoyed reading my previous blogs. To start out the week, we are going to start with something different. I want you to do something self-empowering today. It time to take a take charge attitude where you do something for yourself that is strictly for you and no one else. Take a mental (or physical) break from your daily routine. Look at your routine and see if you can change it, make it better. Sit and meditate at your desk or home. If anyone sees you, tell them you're meditating. Tell them you are going within to connect to your God Source. Ask them to join you if you want. Don't be afraid to show others who you are.
I read Consumer Reports and years ago back in the late 70s early 80s I noticed that Toyotas always were always ranked at the top of the new car lists. I owned a 1969 Camaro which broke down only on days that end in Y. My parents were looking for a new car because their car kept breaking down also. I told Mom about Toyotas and how reliable they were according to Consumer Reports. She told my Dad that she wanted a Toyota Cressida. Dad backed away from that idea since no one in the neighborhood had a foreign car. At Mom's insistence, he finally acquiesced and they brought back their new shiny light blue Toyota one Saturday afternoon. Dad parked it close to the house almost out of sight but he know his neighbors would notice. That night, Dad had nightmares of his neighbors with fire sticks and pitchforks surrounding their house demanding we leave. The next day a neighbor across the street asked Dad about their new car. Two weeks later he bought himself a Toyota Camry. Our neighbor like my dad didn't want to be the first one to change the status quo. But when dad stepped up, others soon followed. A lot of his neighbors wanted a Toyota, but no one wanted to be first. A year later there were all sorts of different cars in the neighborhood, foreign and domestic.
So today I want you to be the first to smile or make someone laugh, or meditate and watch the impact that your efforts accomplish. I want you to know that it is okay to sing your own unique song and who knows, before long you may have others join their voices in with yours. Maybe they want to, but maybe, just maybe they don't want to go first either.
Namaste'
